jenkins turkish delight
Turkish spindles are unique in that they are bottom whorl spindles made up of two removable crossbars and a shaft that pierces both arms. After spinning your yarn on a turkish spindle, you remove the shaft, then gently slide out each arm from the wound yarn, to be left with a centre pull ball of yarn ready for plying. They take a little bit of getting used to, but I adore mine!
Great for travelling, as they can be stored in three parts and packed flat (a pencil box is great for this) when not in use.
The average arm span of a Turkish Delight is 9cm/3.5" and shaft length of 14cm/5.5".
